Why does my coverage vary from location to location?


Your device will switch between 3G and 4G coverage as you move around. That’s because your phone will automatically select the strongest signal for the area or location you are in.

Your signal strength varies for a number of reasons

  • Type and make of device being used
  • Physical location – terrain, density of buildings, trees
  • Levels of technology active in local areas – 3G or 4G
  • Variations in building standards
  • Environmental conditions such as the weather
