I can’t figure out how to set up my broadband


If you’re trying to set up your new Vodafone broadband modem and can’t get it to work, give us a call on 1907 and we’ll troubleshoot the problem with you.

If you have Vodafone broadband but want to use your own modem (i.e. a third party model not supplied by Vodafone such as Belkin, Linksys, Netgear etc.) then you will need to configure the hardware settings manually.

Refer to the manufacturer’s instructions for guidance on how to access the configuration settings on the router; then use the following values to configure the modem for Vodafone Broadband:

 

User Name: vodafone@vodafone.ie
(a.k.a. Network ID, PPP Username, Login or Login Username)

Password: broadband

Encapsulation: PPPoE (PPP over Ethernet)

Multiplexing: LLC-based

VPI: 8

VCI: 35

MTU: use default setting

DNS: auto assigned

 

If there is a need to be specified use the following

Preferred DNS: 89.19.64.36

Alternate DNS: 89.19.64.164

Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP): mail.vodafone.ie
